CHANDLER, Ariz. - It's been several months since a valley rabbi was handcuffed and arrested outside his Chandler synagogue.

The charge? That he had raped a young girl back in 2000.

There are stunning new developments in the case: that there is no case.

This serious charge, according to the rabbi's own words, tore his congregation apart.

Rabbi Bryan Bramly voluntarily headed back to New York to face that rape charge in March and was back there on Wednesday as the charge was dropped and dismissed before a trial could even get underway.

We headed out to Temple Beth Sholom in Chandler to see if anyone there could give us their reaction to the news. Of the few people who were there, none were willing to speak on or off the record about the rabbi.

In a statement issued by Bramly's attorney's, the rabbi stated:
"My wife, children and I are happy and relieved that this nightmare is over and we look forward to the return of some normalcy in our lives...I would not wish this situation on anyone, but as I have learned in the course of this ordeal, unfortunately, false allegations of sexual abuse are all too common."

The rabbi was arrested by U.S. Marshals back in March after a 17 -year-old girl claimed he'd molested her 10 years earlier.

The rabbi passed a lie detector test since that charge was leveled against him and prosecutors apparently found inconsistencies in the girl's story - some things just didn't add up.

So that's where the case stands. The charge of rape dropped.

Now the rabbi hopes to get back to a normal life here in the valley. He's still under contract with Temple Beth Sholom until 2014.
