Synodal Investigation Commission begins work

SYOSSET, NY [OCA] -- The Investigation Commission mandated by the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Orthodox Church in America to investigate allegations against His Eminence, Archbishop Seraphim of Ottawa and Canada, met via conference call in early December 2010.

His Grace, Bishop Tikhon of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, chairs the Commission, while Archpriest Richard Hawrish and Mr. David Grier serve as coordinator and secretary respectively.

Other Commission members include His Grace, Bishop Melchisedek, Protopresbyter Mironne Klysh, Dr. Lila Amirali, and Dr. Thomas Kolivakis.

Those with relevant information may contact the Commission by writing to the Synodal Commission, PO Box 27058, Saskatoon, SK, Canada S7H 5N9 or by sending an e-mail to investigation@oca.org. The Commission has also established a dedicated telephone line -- 306-974-1812 -- that will be operational effective Wednesday, December 15. Once operational, callers will receive a voice mail message informing them that they have reached the Synodal Commission. All communications, by mail, e-mail, or telephone, will remain confidential and be referred directly to the Commission.
